He is notable for his long beard he keeps due to his Muslim faith. He got his name from the infamous drug trafficker “Freeway” Ricky Ross. He was previously a member of the rap group State Property.

The release of his highly anticipated major label debut entitled The Greatest Story Never Told will be released December 4. The rapper has recently appeared on the HBO television series Entourage. He has also recently made headlines for being involved in a fight with rap group Mobb Deep at an album release party where Saigon punched rapper Prodigy in the head. Saigon was then chased off stage and fled to his car.
